windows - How to fix 0xc000007b error in SQL Server 2014? -


shortly after upgraded windows 8.1 windows 10, installed microsoft sql server 2014 on asus laptop. application ran fine until installed latest windows 10 update in november.

when tried run sql server 2014 management studio, received error message msvcp100.dll being missing. after searching internet answers, followed recommended solution: installed microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable package, didn't fix anything. manually downloaded 64-bit versions of msvcp100.dll , related missing dll , copied them syswow64 folder. after trying solution, sql server 2014 still didn't run, , instead got different error message:

"the application unable start correctly (0xc000007b). click ok close application."

i don't use sql server often, need able access application, since use in current job. rather not have reinstall sql server, since process takes several hours , won't fix dependency problems. steps should try next? help.
