Programmatically disable Android OS upgrades? -

we software development department of company makes industrial equipment , have samsung galaxy-tab 4 tablets use "remote controls" manufacturing equipment, using app wrote ourselves purpose , installed directly android studio. app not distributed other devices. bought these tablets online, right out of box samsung, i.e., there no phone company or common carrier involved. these tablets not registered google, i.e., there no gmail account associated them; in fact can't access google play them. unboxed these tablets myself , never registered them with google or samsung.

so surprised when came in morning , saw notice on screen of 1 scheduled software update has been downloaded , ready go. says it's 876.87 mb , wants os upgrade lollipop.

i have no idea upgrade coming or how it's initiated. concern if happens @ customer site or trade show unexpected upgrade break our software or cause other mischief. is there way can programmatically disable software upgrades?

as app developer, no cannot control firmware upgrades. come either carrier, or if it's wi-fi tablet, manufacturer.

your option control firmware. means building own firmware dist of android chosen hardware. can disable (or otherwise control) firmware update schedule / process making changes in firmware.

owning firmware big deal compared deploying app.
