osx - Xcode 8.1 Install -


i downloaded xcode_8.1.xip @ work in order install on mac extracts (as expected) never installed when go store still wants me install it.

please assist me, have no knowledge of installing xip, when still dmg file lot easier

it seems got manual download. double-click xip, extracts. move extracted xcode app /applications (cmd-shift-a on desktop, or in finder window). won't auto-update through app store way, though. if want auto-updates, delete /applications/xcode.app , reinstall through app store.
