amazon web services - Building a master/slave MongoDB with different instances types on AWS -


this might dumb question wanted know if work/be efficient.

let's i'm building app uses mongodb on heavy worload on aws. build mster/slave instance master (let's i2.xlarge instance) cool expensive, , less performant instance slave r3.xlarge.

that way, if master crashes, can use slave x min/hours , when i2 instance built again can re select master , performance back. work ? efficient ?

depending on nth recurrence of job in control M -
